World Maths Day Celebrations - 2012

 

 

World Maths Day was celebrated at SKVT English Medium High School, Rajahmundry from March 5th to 7 th , 2012. The goal of this event was to encourage students of all classes to have a go at Mathematics in a fun, interactive and accessible way. SKVT School Mathematics faculty members Shri Rambabu Sir, Shri Gurumurthy Sir , Shri Nagabhushan Sir with the help of Headmistress Smt Satyavathi Madam and other faculty members conducted Maths quiz competitions, Maths exhibition, Sudoku and daily puzzle contexts to students of all ages.

World Maths Day celebrations were kicked off on March 5th by Mrs. Satyavathi Madam , a retired SKVT Headmistress & a Math Guru who served the school for nearly two decades , inspired and shaped many illustrious careers by introducing innovative and skilled methods in their way of traditional teaching. The highlight of the event was the maths exhibition where students of SKVT School exhibited various mathematical models to explain basic principles and concepts of Maths. Quiz competitions, maths puzzles, sudoku competitions were also conducted as part of this event. Students were happy to participate in this event that displayed the fun and exciting side of mathematics in a different way from their school curriculum. They got a chance to bring their inner creative talent by solving the puzzles given to them. Certificates and mementos were given to the winners in each competition.

The World Maths day celebrations at SKVT School caught media's attention and multiple news papers published the event news. The local cable TV network had a small clipping about the event and applauded SKVT school and its faculty members for organizing such a fantastic event for the students.

SKVT Alumni Association sponsored this event and worked very closely with SKVT faculty members to make it a grand success. The motto of this association is to bring back past glory to SKVT School by organizing various events to promote quality education among students
